Serving at the table of the Lord is an important and wonderful way that people young and old can assist in the Eucharist -- the source and summit of our life as Christians. When done with reverence, respect, and attention, as the Pope suggests, this can be a wonderful service to our faith community and indeed an act of love that draws the server closer to God. Altar Serving at St. Mary of the Lake is open to boys and girls beginning in 3rd grade who belong to the parish. New servers are trained by Fr. John. While in the past servers "retired" after 8th grade, experienced servers are now encouraged to continue serving as high schoolers, college students (if in town), and beyond. Please contact the Parish Office at 469-2637 to sign up.
The Finance Council consists of parishioners who are experts in the fields of finance, business, and accountancy. The Council advises the Pastor on financial matters of the Parish, conducts an annual budget review, and assists the Pastor in creating an annual financial report for the parish.

Ministers to the Sick and Homebound are given training to perform their ministry and are then assigned to a particular member of our parish for an unspecified duration. If you or someone you know would like to be added to our list of homebound parishioners, please call our parish office at 469-2637.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are trained lay ministers who assist the priest (the ordinary minister) in the distribution of the Eucharist during Mass. If you would like to serve in this ministry, please contact the Parish Office at 469-2637. Ministers do need to go through training.
Lectors are trained lay people who proclaim the sacred Scripture at Mass with skill, reverence and understanding. Lectors carry the Book of the Gospels in the Entrance Procession, proclaim the First and Second Readings, and lead the Prayer of the Faithful. If you would like to serve in this ministry, please contact the Parish Office at 469-2637.
